Teach for Belgium is a non-profit organization created in 2013 whose vision is to enable the success of all students regardless of their socio-economic background. Teach for Belgium aims to reduce school inequities by attracting, supporting and deploying young professionals as well as people in professional reorientation to become inspiring teachers for students from the most disadvantaged schools in Belgium. In 2018, Teach for Belgium is celebrating her 5th anniversary. With a team of 18 people, we recruit, train and support 128 participants and alumni who are reaching 10.000 students every year.

Under the supervision of the coordinator for financial partnerships and in close collaboration with all your colleagues, the M&E Officer will be expected to collaborate and coordinate across the organization and with external partners to :

1.      Lead monitoring & evaluation efforts

  •          Lead continuous improvement TFB’s internal monitoring & evaluation system based on lessons learned and the network’s expertise (eg. other partners, Teach For All’s DREAM team (Data, Research, Evaluation, & Measurement))
  •          Re-define Knowledge Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the organization’s short, medium, and long-term impact
  •          Coordinate and support data-collection for all departments (e.g. recruitment & selection, training & support, school partnerships…)
  •          Collaborate with departments to formulate strategies and recommendations based on data analysis (on Salesforce, Excel,…) to improve and enhance TFB’s overall work
  • 2.       Lead efforts to align organization’s vision and approach with local context
  •          Lead TFB’s engagement on contextualized vision coordinating and leveraging support from Teach For All
  •          Set-up and perform internal research (e.g. interviews, focus groups, data-analysis, ...) with the goal to continuously align Teach for Belgium’s vision and approach with our local context.
  •          Adapt Teach for All’s vision and methodology to the Belgian context

3.    Support external engagement with partners and donors on impact measurement

  •          Provide quantitative and qualitative data for our external communication including for donor reporting
  •          Follow up on engagements with partners and donors related to impact measurement
  •          Write impact reports
  •          Coordinate the redaction and publication of Teach for Belgium’s annual report
  • 4.       Lead on internal and external research and evaluation portfolio
  •          Maintain a good understanding of the main studies and research on educational inequities within Belgium and internationally
  •          Define internal and external research priorities aligned with Teach For Belgium’s short, medium, and long-term impact
  •          Lead on internal research on attractiveness of the teacher profession in Belgium including defining research methodology, developing partnerships with student organizations, analysing results and comparing with international benchmarks
  •          Lead on any external evaluation opportunities including defining the terms of references, selection process, coordination with external evaluation partners throughout evaluations and preparing evaluation reports, and dissemination and communication on results
    •          Leverage best practices and support from Teach For All’s DREAM team


-          You are aligned with Teach for All’s and Teach for Belgium’s vision and mission

-          You have a strong interest in education and social research

-          You have a Master degree (or equivalent through experience) with at least 3 years of professional experience in the non-profit sector or in management consulting.

-          You have experience supporting organizations in internal monitoring & evaluation and/or conducting research and/or evaluations

-          Experience in the Belgian education system/as a teacher is an asset.

-          You are fluent in English and French; with a good knowledge of Dutch

-          You possess excellent analytical skills and have a sense for details

-          You like diving into data and figures, you master Excel (or you have profound experience in data-management)

-          You have excellent communication skills

-          You are proactive self-organised and accountable

-          You are a real team player, versatile and flexible
