Liaison Officer


The Evens Foundation seeks a dynamic collaborator to take care of the good functioning of the team, the internal reporting on the projects and initiatives and the representation and brand building of the Evens Foundation. The Liaison Officer  should have a Master’s degree and have relevant experience; be a passionate, socially engaged individual who is reflective but also highly practical; be interested in furthering the aims of the Foundation; be a good people manager, communicator and networker.

Job description

You will work for the Evens Foundation, a public benefit foundation based in Antwerp, with offices in Paris and Warsaw. Through our projects and supports, we seek to achieve a more harmonious and democratic society in a diverse Europe.

You will be the Liaison Officer of a dynamic, international team and will be reporting to the Chairwoman of the executive committee. Your team consists of six qualified people that are working both independently and collectively.

You will be responsible for the good functioning of this team that is located in three countries and that is working on projects within two key initiatives of the Evens Foundation: “Common Purpose through Differences” and “Norms and Values within the European Reality”. The Foundation initiates and supports innovative interventions, supports the development of pioneering methods and tools; funds research for its projects; supports advocacy initiatives, and facilitates mutual learning and networking among EU-based organizations active in Europe, by organizing lectures, conferences and summer labs. The Evens Foundation also awards multiple prizes closely linked to its initiatives (Critical thinking in education Prizes, Journalism Prizes, Art Prize and Science Prize).

It will be your role to support each team member whenever needed and to create an environment where they are able to function in an efficient way, achieve the goals that are defined in the strategic plan and find satisfaction in working together and being part of a larger project.

It will also be your task to develop, in collaboration with an external communications expert, a communications strategy in order to bring the Foundation’s projects, initiatives and achievements under the attention of potential partners, funders and people working in the field.

You will regularly operate as the representative and ambassador of the Evens Foundation and you are motivated and creative in detecting and engaging with possible collaborating and/or funding partners.

You will be responsible for the regular reporting to the Chairwoman of the executive committee on the functioning of the team, the realization of the projects and the development and execution of the communications strategy.

Although the Foundation favors using the available technology for international collaborations, travelling within the European Union will sometimes be necessary.


You are a passionate, socially engaged individual with interest in the issues covered by the Foundation’s two key initiatives, and who has a strong affinity with its overall aims.

You have a Master’s degree and some experience in a sector that is relevant for this position (linked to one or more of the two key initiatives and/or to the work of public-benefit organizations, preferably in a leadership or management position and with experience in communication and/or brand building).

You are a creative, resourceful people manager, a good communicator and a good listener. You have a strong personality and can work well both independently and in team.

You are well organized, and swiftly follow up and implement the tasks assigned to you as well as proactively identify issues and opportunities within your liaison remit.

You make sure you are well informed about and up to date on the central themes of the Evens Foundation initiatives.

You collaborate in a loyal but thoughtful and questioning way in realizing the Foundation’s strategic plan.

You fluently speak and write Dutch, English and French.

You are able to work with common ICT software programs (Word, email, etc) and use the Internet for searches and research.

Being able to start soon would be a strong asset.
